99 SE Convert - rattle and handling fixes

just picked up a '99 SE convert. with 28K. Absolutely new condition. Absolutely satisfied, except for a few things:
-rattle in upper windsheild driver side and rattle of dash in front of steering wheel over medium/large bumps (can't avoid in NYC). (rattle of dash diminishes somewhat if I press down on it with hand)
Can anyone help with a solution, or is this just something I'll have to live with?
Also, what's the best mod for a little more confident handling at high speeds-lane changing, etc. I'm coming from an M3 4 door and I know this isn't a fair comparison, just looking for a little more stability to more fully enjoy turbo fun on the highway.
Oh, and does anyone have the definitive part number for a K&N airfilter? I know this was discussed before, but I couldn't find an ultimate answer.
Thanks for any help.
