Soft Top Failure (long)

The saga of my new Viggen Convertible continues. Today, my wife, another couple and myself were on our way for a day on the town to enjoy the sunshine. Before I even left my driveway, I got the dreaded soft top failure msg. on the SID. The car is less than a week old and I didn't even have 200 on the clock. I called the dealer and brought it right in. The diagnosed it right away as a bad chip/sensor. Unfortunately, it will take a few days before they can get a new one. Luckily, they showed me had to trick the faulty sensor so that I can still open the top. After the failure happens, release the roof toggle switch and then immediately re-engage it. The top then opens as normal. Of course, I am still fired up. But a nice 100 mile drive on open country roads did a lot to make me feel better. The engine on this car amazes me more with every drive.
Hopefully, this helps anyone that might experience the same problem.
