If you look on the inside of the front-door pockets you'll notice some grooves. These are used for attaching cupholders that are available in Europe, but can be ordered for use in the U.S. The mounting grooves may not be on the 2002, but I suspect they are.
However, I think the door cupholders suck. I'm only 5'8" but I'm constantly kicking the things, hence spilling, and so I never use them. I'm not sure the ones in the link you posted would be any better in that respect.
But, if you are determined to have door-mounted cupholders, I would look for the ones that are made for your car rather than drilling new holes into it - unless of course you never plan on trading/selling the car.
I've yet to see a reasonable cupholder for these cars besides the one located in the center console.
Just my $0.02,
John
