I had previously posted a message (and had some other TiD owners) regarding a loss/lack of power form my 98 9-3 TiD. The car only really pulled between 2000-3000 revs/min and seemed to run out of power over 3000 revs/min. This was particularly noticeable on hills where I'd have to drop a gear or two to maintain the revs to get the car to climb. The check engine warning light also illuminated briefly (for a few seconds) on several occaisions.
My excellent local Saab specialists (The Workshop (SAAB Specialists), in Bristol U.K. (Tel: 0117 940 6121)) eventualy located the loss of power problem which turned out to be a faulty air mass meter which was about 50% out of calibration and therefore not enough fuel was being delivered via the fuel pump. Since this has been rectified, the car goes like a dream (I have the Abbot power upgrade fitted). Many thanks to Ian and his colleagues at the The Workshop for sorting out this problem.
