Excuse the ignorance, but i have a question re the head gasket. Is the head gasket the same gasket as what I call the 'Valve cover gasket' over the cam shafts? If not then how do I check for a head gasket leak? Also, there is small seepage from the edge of the "valve cover". it is sticky like rubber cement and doesn't smell like oil. the dealer/mechanic says it is normal; that it is a lube used when the gasket is put on. Any thoughts? thanks.
