I am wondering if there is another temperature related problem and the ECU is shedding the AC load deliberately.
I would connect an indicator lamp to the compressor, on the far side of the compressor overheat switch. That way you can see if the compressor is running. If the compressor is not running, no point in going after expansion valves etc. If the compressor overheat switch is opening out, you might need two indicator lights. The switch could be bogus, or the antifrost switch is faulty and the compressor overheats and temp switch then opens. The compressor overtemp switch will fail after a while if thats whats going on as it is not designed for lots of cycling.
Could be a fault in the pressure switch at the dryer reciever behind the grill. Check for damaged wires there.
Checked the trany fluid level?
Sounds like a problem that the dealer will have to work out.
