Anybody's guess, I suppose. The car is going to be wildly popular. I have honestly never been more excited about a new Saab than I am about the new 9-3. This car is going to bring a hell of a lot of new owners into our ranks and not because the car is more mainstream, but rather because it is really an exciting advancement of Saab cars. Anyone who says it isn't a real Saab has not seen it nor sat in one, let alone driven it (I can't wait to drive this car). This car is going to send waves through the entry level luxury class and affect MB, Audi, BMW, Lexus and many more. I'm not BS'ing you.
While some of the marketing (and it's amazingly good and loud marketing for a change) would have you believe that $25.9K is an aggressive price - I still think that $23.9K is the real aggressive price that can't be beat by anyone and makes a new 9-3 purchase an absolute no-brainer - perhaps we don't want the no-brainers, I don't know. The new car may lure people into looking into Saab and if they aren't happy with the price, they will spill over into the used 9-3 market - that could drive used 9-3 prices up and with the lack of a hatchback, owners seeking that will look to the used 9-3. In all, I think if you're looking for a used 9-3, you better get one sooner than later - which looks to be my strategy. My wife needs a new car and she wants a hatchback. Her sister is getting the new 9-3 - already decided, so maybe Elle will get a chance to drive it and change her mind. I would definitely be amenable to adding the new 9-3 to my driveway. That's unless Garry Grimes would sell me his 83 900T I saw at the convention - the car that made me fall in love with Saabs to begin with.

p.s. TSN'ers will be extremely pleased to hear that the new 9-3 has an audio jack (mini) plug in the center console so you can plug your portable music player into the sound system. I give my applause to Saab for that minor detail that gives us a lot of music freedom! There's nothing like driving a Saab with the music blaring.
