This suggests that the hydraulic lifters are draining or sticking. That would create 'tappet' noises, not clucking or hammering.

But this might suggest an oil pressure problem which could be serious. Note that the engine oil pressure warning light will only come on if the pressure is very low, perhaps 3-7 psi which is way too low for safe operation. A guage could be installed and the pressure checked at idle and while underway.

If its sticking lifters, this might be caused by deposits which could be cleaned up with an engine oil flush and synthetic oil.

But overall, its it a bad sign and you don't want to purchase someone elses problem. And perhaps a lesson. If a dealer suggests that they will have a vehicle started and warmed up for your test drive, that you should say, "Great, I will come along and see how well it starts."
