Good idea on the whistling. I might try that if it comes back.
I had the dealer totally disassemble and re-assemble the driver's side mirror. There was a gap where the mirror folded into the body that I thought was contributing to the problem. The re-assembly tightened the gap and greatly reduced (but not totally eliminated) the problem.
