Part of it was that the tires can flatspot overnight when you have hot days and cool nights. Other than that, we had a heck of a time getting the tires balanced correctly. Finally, NTB in Nashua NH rebalanced them to the point of smoothness. I gave the OK to remount them to account for any "out of roundness" if they needed to but I don't remember paying for that so perhaps it was just a balance.
Both times I've received tires mounted on rims from Tirerack, I've had to have them balanced again at a reputable shop almost immediately. They offered to pay for the balancing which was very nice.
