the thought being, if you're gonna splice into the factory din-8 cable anyhow, you might as well connect the additional pair of RCA's while you're in there soldering around. You can also still use the factory (optional) amp for the mid-bases in the front doors, privided that when you splice, you maintain the existing connections in the factory din cable. i did this a couple weeks ago in my viggen and now have 4-ch. preouts available for the future. the existing system performs exactly as it did previously, i just added a 10" sub in the hatch for deeper bass.
i also scribbled some notes for color-channel validation in the factory cable... so i can dig that up if you need it. let me know and i can post it tonight or tomorrow.
