Help on buying a 9-3 for a classic 900 guy?

It's finally time to get a "newer" car with a warranty and a bit more peice of mind. I currently own a '90 900 and a '94T-conv. My fiancee' drives quite a few miles to school 2-3 times a week in the convertible. It's a great car but we really want to kind of preserve it a bit more and not rack up so many miles on it. The '90 is my car and it's quirky so I don't feel comfortable with her driving it long distances without me. It's becoming more of a hobby car everyday anyway.
I've been looking at 2-door 9-3's which are a little hard to find but there are a few around.
Anyway....my questions are...We've spotted a '99 9-3S at a local subaru dealer. 40K miles, nice condition, 5-speed for $14K. Seems like a good price. Are there any particular year specific problems with 9-3's. How long is the factory warranty? Any thing in particular I should look for?
We want to stay in the $13-$16K range on price which has us looking at mostly '99's.
Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.......Todd
