Well...I have not yet bought this hypothetical 9-3 SE yet, if ever....I like to know what I can and can't do to make all my Saabs look their BEST..IMHO.
The 9-3 appearance flares, front spoiler, and such do NOT appeal to me....The reason I like the Talladega front chin spoiler soooo much is that it is BEEFY and parallel with the ground...It makes the front of the car look lower, and with no side flares and no rear valence, gives the car a gradual upward slope from front to rear...SWEET
The 9-3 front lip spoiler is flimsy looking and is angled up away from the ground...RUINS the lines...again..IMHO
However...If I buy this 9-3 SE...( I could always buy an S but would not have the ACC, power seats, etc , etc, of the top of the line ),I will remove all the skirting material so it is just the black undernetah all around, have the side mirrors painted ( depending on the yr beacuse I think in 2001 the mirrors cam painted/color coded ), and have the rear spoiler painted like the Talladega.
Since the rear spoiler is angled slightly upwards, it gives the back of the car that " lifted " appearance that I like...Plus, that U-G-L-Y sports package that you can buy from saabcatalog?? YUK! Looks like what a Saab would look like if it were made in Japan!!
PLUS!! I would get the three spoke alloy wheels that com standard on the origianl 1999 9-5 base models.....They look GREAT on a 9-3!
Then, I will have a perfect looking 9-3....IMHO.
But, I still love my 1998 900SE in Gold, so it may be a while...I am just thinking ahead!
