I know this subject has been discussed exhaustively, but I want to ask one more question about the footrest, which I am having big problems getting used to after driving a 900 for many years. I have removed the footrest, which I think is an improvement. But, it still does not solve the problem of too little space for my left leg. In the place where the footrest was, under the carpet, there is still some sort of block that you are supposed to rest your foot on. Is there some way to remove that block? Unlike the footrest which came off fairly easily (but left two holes in the carpet), this looks like a bigger deal, if you can even do it at all, and involves taking up the carpet. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks.
