I don't think that you will find soldering irons at the automotive assy lines. Perhaps withing a relay. But most of these are mechanical connections. Sometimes you can save a relay be soldering a problem that you find.
Not a short, one short and you get a blown fuse. You described an intermittant problem.
Remove the corner lamp and look in from the side, the harness connector to the lamp is right there. Check that its tight and secure. I would remove and replace to 'wipe' the contacts. There is a red end that needs to slide out. These get quite locked and can be difficult to move as the slide/cam plastic surfaces get contaminated with road grit.
The fuse box under the hood, near the driver, is black on earlier production. I would remove and swap the low and high beam relays and see if the problem changes with the relay swap. Try one thing at a time.
