Went to my dealer to buy a set of idler pulleys today, thinking that I would replace them to avoid any potential problems this winter.

Happend to get a very helpful and informative person at the parts counter. When he found out I had a '99 9-3 he asked if I was actually having any pulley problems (I'm not). His comment was that the NG900 pulleys fail contstantly and that he sells them by the boat load. But he maintains that the 9-3 pulleys are not a problem. He looked up the dealership sales on them and they have not sold any of them yet. Based on his advice I'll just let mine go for a while.

Then I asked him about the DI cassettes. He chuckled and entered the part number in the computer from memory. They have sold 44 of them year to date, and keep 9 in stock at all times. The sales were broken down by month, and the hot summer months showed significant increases in units sold.

Looks like I'd better get a DI to carry in the trunk...
