Hello, all.
With a dash of regret, I find myself leaning towards swapping out my Eibach springs for the SE springs. Alas, the much-improved handling is beginning to lose its luster, as the bump-bump-bumpy roads are causing lots of new rattles in the car. The women who drive with me are also, shall we say, somewhat unappreciative of the improved turn-in and lack of body roll! (Bump bump bump...)
So, what I am thinking of doing is swapping the SE srpings back in to get more ride height, but keeping the Eibach Pro System shocks. I can't recall the exact specs on the Eibach shocks, but I remember that they are made by Sachs. They should be noticeably stiffer than the OEM shocks, in combination with the SE springs.
With this setup, will I need to fear being in an overdamped condition? I am trying to find a good compromise between the greater ride height (so bumps are absorbed a bit better) and improved control, insofar as some of the body roll, etc. is concerned. I know that the stock springs will allow for more body roll, and I am comfortable with that. I want to avoid nasty overdamping problems that could cause problems in a spirited driving setting.
Having said all of that, does anyone have any comments? I am interested in hearing what you all think.
As always, thanks to everyone for your tremendous insights, tips, hints, scoldings, etc..
