I noticed a couple of threads about starting "hiccups". I have had my own "issues" with my 93. EVERY time I start it in the morning it dies - sometimes it dies immediately, sometimes after I let it run for a while. It always takes two starts. I brought it to the dealer (Saab/Porsche/Volvo) here in Austin. They told me it was the gas in Austin,San Antonio, and Pittsburgh. They said they had 7 Saabs and Volvos in that day alone with the same problem. The Saab mechanic is claiming it is the gas in the area and the computer starter does not know how to read the fuel mix?!? I have <12K miles on the car and only use Premium gas. They changed out my plugs to hotter plugs, told me to use mid octane gas, and sent me on my way. Now the car starts but sounds like it damn near to puttering out. Did I say this $40K convertible only has 12K miles on it???? Any ideas?
