...and you recommended Hoosiers or the Pole Position Bridgestones?
I have the P6000 SV as OEM on my '01 SE, and at 15k miles (about half worn), they are scary. They screech and howl even when I'm driving rather conservatively around turns on dry pavement. I guess they're good at warning me that I'm anywhere conceivably close to a limit, but I don't want to see an emergency situation in the wet with them, and it's no fun not to be able to drive fast around corners.
That said, they are quiet, and ride alright considering the stiff SE suspension. I do have the 205/55/16 though, as opposed to 50. I think Brian's suggestion for that switch is a good one. Helps protect your alloy wheels too.
See the thread I started below for more info. Some say P6000 (as opposed to P6000 Sport Veloce), which I believe came OEM on some Viggens, are much better. They're quite a bit softer, so your treadlife will suffer. But I'd rather have 15-20k safe miles then 30-40k where I'm risking my life everytime I turn.
Cheers,
'Roo
