Sitting at my desk this morning when I hear a *CRASH* outside the office, wonder what it is and go out to see a Nissan Z backing away from our 9-3 and taking off down the alley.....Good Samaritan takes off after the woman as I size up the rear damage (DUI woman misjudged turn, smashed into driver's side rear corner) the rear bumper is wrecked, exhaust crunched, car pushed up on curb in front. This is a manual so it was in reverse with P-brake engaged.
Question one, if the car was hit hard enough to move it forward two feet, was there potential damage to the tranny? I'm assuming an alignment is in order too. How about any other things I may want to keep an eye on?
Oh, BTW, the Good Sam chased her and found her one block away smashed into a tree. The boy friend then came out and moved the car into their driveway, they live within a block of my office!!! Officer can get her leaving scene w/damage but no DUI since she has been in the house since accident (can claim came home and drank a bottle of Scotch to calm nerves)
I'm not sure of insurance yet, I'm hoping....
