We have both a 9-3 3dr and a 9-3 Convertible. We love them both. I drive the convertible. This is my first convertible since my 1968 Mustang (which I am very sorry that I got rid of considering what they are going for these days). I find the car extremely quiet with very little wind noise. There is a slight noise that comes from the handle that locks the top up. I am not sure if that is normal but if I press on it briefly the noise goes away. I am planning on having the dealer check it next month when it is in for an oil change.
I pay about $500.00 for the major services 30K, ect. I purchased both cars from a Saab dealer so they are certified (extended warranty), which is very important to me and something that you should consider. I have had the both mufflers and the heater box and controls replaced on my car. So I suggest that you check both of these items. I also found that the brakes don't last that long on these cars so make sure you check them before you buy it.
The convertible is a lot of fun in the warmer weather and quite suitable to drive in the colder climates such as here in MA.
I hope that this helps.
