First off,
I find it rather funny how the majority of these follow up posts are refrencing to "class" and flaming when the posts have absolutely no class to them what so ever.
First off, go with the car you want rather than the car that represents your income.
As for the rims, if that is his style then so be it. If you bought the Saab and that was the most you can afford, then you go big pimpin' on your 16 inch POS Enkei's if thats all you can afford. Save you money, buy what you want, and shut your trap. Or better yet, get an education, a real job, and buy something that you can gloat your pocket book with if that is your priority.
Chances are an adapter plate won't cause you any real problems. I'm not sure what the Saab bolt pattern is, but they probably used something common enough where it won't be much of an issue.
It will ride nothing like before though. It'll be pretty rough. Main reason why you usually only see 20s on SUVs.
As for the TCS - I'd email Saab.
