I got a set of the 15" stock alloy rims, and I put a set of Arctic Alpins on them. You can put euro chains on the 15" wheels...though I rarely need them going to Bend OR every weekend over the pass. Snow and ice is a regular scenario. Alpins are good in the rain too.. and the dry road manners aren't bad at all.. just a bit squishier..
I have done this for my last 4 car arrangements in the winter.
You can do the same with steelies and tires from tire rack, ready to go. I just don't like the look of steel wheels on my SE
