We drove both 175 hp (in "Arc" trim) and 210 hp (Called Aero, our Vector) at the press launch this past July. Spent most of the "Aero" time with the 6-speed manual, and most of the "Arc" time with the automatic, although we did check-test the other set-ups, and reported them out in NINES #258. Bear in mind that these were all prototypes, not production cars, so what one journalist wrote may just reflect that particular car.
We found the 210 hp version to be, if anything, smoother than the 175 hp car we drove. Our Arc had 16" wheel and tire package, with Goodyear NCT radials - our Aero, 17" wheels with Michelin Primacy tires. The production cars come with P6, or PZero Rossi on 17" wheels (I'm told). No complaint about driveablilty or lag or so-called torque steer with either car. The 175 hp car was plenty quick, the 210 hp car was even better! I'd say if you're thinking in terms of "Launch Package" or Premium Package Linear models, you might just as well get the Arc (if you can wait until spring). The Linear's $25,900 base price gets awfully close to the Arc's projected $30K once you start loading it up.
