a honking or hooting noise anywhere between 1500-3000 rpm (as the tear vibrates in the turbo's pressure stream). That would cinch the diaphragm as the culprit. Since it's an auto (like mine), you may have to put it in 1st or 2nd to get the rpms that high w/o getting a ticket.
I think there've been low-boost posts on some of the other boards, too. What I DON'T know is why you'd have an initial power loss, so maybe someone else knows more about the entire scenario. I can see the engine mgmt system limiting boost due to a leaky valve, but I really don't know if that's what's happening. (Sorry; hey, I said it was a guess!)
Yeah, this is a great place. Too bad I can't get either coffee or beer while I'm yakin'. Just don't get me started on the benefits of "better than OEM" parts!
