Yes, there are three bulbs in the back of the SID that control the LCD backlighting (and I think three more for the button lighting too). To replace them you first need to remove the SID... It's quite easy to do (after you've done it once or twice), just pry around the edge with a flat knife. You might want to protect the plastic with a piece of electrical tape or something so you don't scratch it up. The unit is held in mainly at the top and bottom by little tabs.
Once you have the SID removed, UNPLUG it. If you try to replace the bulbs with the power on you WILL blow them (ask me how I know). The bulbs are accessed through deep holes in the back... No need to take it apart.
You can get the right bulbs at the dealer for a couple of dollars. There are two types of bulbs that are different wattage (one is white and the other is grey) so you might want to take the removed unit to the dealer to get the right ones.
