For one, there is the wood dash. The big bonuses I see on the SE are the HO option extra 15- 20 HP, and the premium package. SEs with the Premium package include a sport suspension, which seems a little tighter and the steering seems sharper (could be my imagination on the steering). This package includes a stereo upgrade and seating upgrade (Leather with multi-memory seats) among a few other things. I'm looking for a 99 as well. You already mentioned the larger wheels.
Comparing the SE without the options and the base model, I don't know that there is a lot of difference other than the dash and wheels, but maybe I'm missing something. I've driven a couple SEs only.
