Consumer Guide Complaint (2003 9-3SS/Convertible) Posted by Ian Glenday [Email] (#95) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ian Glenday) on Mon, 9 Dec 2002 21:05:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I wrote to Consumer Guide to complain that they had lumped their review of the new 9-3SS and the 2003 9-3 convertible as one similar car. Here is their response. Is this a double negative or what?
"You are 100-percent correct the new 9-3 and the old convertible are two completely different cars. When Toyota introduced the new Camry last year we separated the Solara report from the Camry because they were now two different vehicles, not two bodystyles of the same vehicle. By that standard we should have separated the 9-3 and 9-3 Cabrio. We chose not to because they 1) have the same name, and 2) the cabrio will be replaced by a new 9-3 cabrio next year. It might only confuse readers more to have the 9-3 cabrio separate for one year and then merge it back in.
Thanks for the comment though.
