"Ford Will Keep Building Jaguar V-6 Engines In Ohio
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
CLEVELAND (AP)--Ford Motor Co. (F) will keep building the Jaguar V-6 engine in its suburban Brook Park, Ohio, plant instead of moving production to the U.K. in 2004.
The decision increases job security for about 500 workers who build the engine at Engine Plant No. 2, which has 1,875 hourly workers. The V-6 is used in the Jaguar S-Type and X-Type.
Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford had announced in 2001 that it would move production of the engines to its plant in Brigend, U.K., so they would be closer to the final assembly plant. The automaker has decided to build six-cylinder Volvo engines at Brigend instead, Ford spokesman John Gardiner said."
