You're a braver man than I. I'm a mechanic by necessity but wouldn't tackle that myself despite having the tech bulletin and tools. They did, in fact, do the shim and grease job vice the changeout. It seems to be ok for now...no issues yet. I may have to go your route eventually if any problems come up...right now I'll see if this fix holds. I'll tackle the dash 'chirp" as soon as the weather warms up. It's on the extreme right side behind the dash light switch...any ideas on what could be the cause? (anything I imagine but sounds like a brace is missing a washer or pad) I only notice it when the temp dips and the road is rougher than usual.
