A few months into Viggen (2000) ownership myself, I agree the rush of power is amazing. FWIW, here's my bit of wisdom as a long time performance car nut-- Get out of the clutch quickly and respect the redline. The fat turbo's amazing thrust won't impact your clutch life once your foot is off the left pedal. What kills a clutch is "riding it", or consistently letting the clutch out gradually. Obviously, don't spool it up at a stop and dump the clutch, but also don't feather it out. Always give it enough gas to get it moving quickly and get out of the clutch quickly. Then, don't exceed the 6k rpm redline. You can dip into the red just a bit on occasion, but Saab painted that part of the dial red for a reason. And the Viggen's motor shines best from 2,500-5,500 anyway.
ENJOY THE PUSH!
