Just for the past 8 or 9 years out of the previous 25, right? It's good to know that the 9-3 service manual specs 18.5 ft-lbs (what, no range anymore?), & based on Saabtech2's info it sounds like your 20-22 ft-lbs is obviously not too much. I guess I'll have to lighten up a touch on mine, since I've been using the C900 spec on my 9-3.
All I was saying, was that the '85-'93 service manual specs 21-29 ft-lbs, so your 20-22 ft-lb torque is on the low end for at least a third of your 25 years of torque-ing. Notice that I didn't say it was too low, only that it was on the low end. Since I only have a service manual for the 900 series, I won't presume what torque the 99 series takes (does that also have an aluminum oil pan?).
Thanks for being so diligent in researching the correct info for us! It certainly helps everyone out.
Oh, BTW, I think your CapsLock key is stuck again...
