As a Christmas gift to my car (my wife thinks I'm nuts), I purchased the captioned from Taliaferro Saab (http://www.genuinesaab.com/default.asp) and installed it yesterday. A few comments for the BB:

1. The instructions are in Swedish so Nick at Talafierro was kind enough to e-mail me some JPEGs which helped with doing the install.

2. The installation is straight-forward although I did suffer a few mishaps - (a) I dropped a bolt down into the lower portion of the engine so had to remove the underbody cover to get it and (b) while trying to remove the throttle body from the old filter housing, I gave it a good yank and it fell out of my hands and hit the RF fender leaving a nice small dent and scratch. One of these days I'm going to learn to leave these things to my mechanic!

3. This could easily have been a one hour install if the hose clamp for the new cone filter was not so short which was a major PITA to install. I'm going to pick-up a longer one today as I finally gave up and simply used duct tape to keep the filter somewhat secure.

4. The spool-up is greatly improved and the lag is definitely reduced. I have no idea if the car is any faster but it is certainly more enjoyable to drive around town.

5. You can hear more intake roar now and the CBV is louder. Much more of a "whoosh" sound but still not as loud as my old '95 9K Aero with a cone intake.

Happy motoring!

Regards,

Derek
