Karen...I just bought a 2000 (alas not a convertible.) I think I scared the sales guy who came along for the ride - maybe it was my demented cackling as I discovered JUST how fast it accelerated from about 30-90mph onto the freeway. My current other daily driver is a Nissan pickup truck, so it was quite a change for me!

I've put about 700 miles on it over the weekend and I still don't know whay people complain about torque steer. Even under the hardest acceleration (and I think I was pretty vigorous) it's manageable...seems like an abrupt twist to the left, but as long as you're prepared for it, it's kind of fun...maybe at very high speeds & aggressive cornering one would need to hold onto the steering wheel...? I also notice it seems to wander a bit if you get in a rut on the road. But now that I'm a bit used to it, it handles in a very mannerly fashion until you push it.

I'm in SE Michigan and finding fun twisty roads is a challenge, wish I was still back in Colorado...
