Contoured Viggen Emblem - Update

At the suggestion of someone on this BB (or maybe it was my own doing), I decided to figure out a way to replace the "9 3" on the rear of the car with a contoured Viggen emblem. As promised, here are the results and the procedure I used (link to pictures is below):
Step 1: I used a hair dryer to warm up the existing emblem on the rear of the hatch, and slid dental floss underneath to separate it from the paint. No scratches or goo were left behind.
Step 2: Insterted a piece of cardboard into the body gap between the rear fender and the trunk. Use a pen (or something like it) to trace out the contour of the trunk.
Step 3: Clear off the goo from a new Viggen emblem (something like Goo Gone will work)
Step 4: Grind the rear of the emblem to match the contour drawn on the cardboard. I used a Dremel for this since a grinding wheel wasn't handy. Patience is key for this one.
Step 5: Apply double-sided tape to the rear of the emblem. I used the thinnest, yet strongest tape I could find (from 3M). Apply emblem to the rear of the car. Voila!
The biggest issue I had while doing it was dealing with the tendency of the chrome plating on the emblem to peel away from the plastic base. Some contact cement worked to secure loose parts back on, but perhaps someone has a better method of doing this. Oh, and melted ABS plastic smells terrible.
I'm pretty happy with the results overall...
