Sorry to be blunt, but your head gasket is probably going to fail.

Ours did (99 SE HOT) and at about 36k.

Was covered under warranty at the time. Our Saab dealer Repair guy basically said it was common on these cars, especially 99's.

You may want to contact SAAB (if still under warranty) and explain the beginnings of a seal failure and perhaps this will save you some money if it should fail after warranty. I can't tell you the cost of the repair, since the warranty covered ours.

One positive sign though, we noticed our leak via low coolant levels (without visible coolant on the ground etc.- i.e.seeping into the block) and called Saab when the coolant had to be filled. They said to bring the car IMMEDIATELY to the dealer, which we did, preventing more severe problems.
