I'd check your springs and shocks, as you were mentioning. Obvious problem signs in the shocks will be oil leaking: Pop your hood, and pop off the two plastic caps covering the top of your struts (I use a screwdriver). Look for oil there, as well as under the boot in the wheel well. I guess the best you can do by looking at the springs is to make sure they are matched (same # of coils, same thickness, same progression etc.). If you're feeling more ambitious, check the hardware underneath your car for looseness, but I think if your turn problem was related to mechanical failures, you'd probably be eharing some nasty sounds.
More subjectively, in a LHD car, right turns of the same diameter at the same speed FEEL more dramatic than left ones, simply because you, sitting on the outside of the turn, are experiencing more acceleration. Also, your weight as a driver is loading the outside suspension more in right turns, which will increase the body roll.
Your car's left to right balance may also be involved. Some cars are balanced from the factory to accomodate 1 driver (BMW's, I've been told, have a weight bias to the right side of the car, which balances out with 1 driver), while others (like the Subaru WRX) remained centered with 2 passengers (therefore, are unbalanced with just a driver). I don't know where Saab stands in this mix. Try the same turns with a passenger, and see how he feels about left vs right turns.
Good luck, and I hope it's nothing serious!
Best,
Lutfisk
