we used to have a Nissan Maxima that we bought used. We'd had the car about one week (it was my wifes car) and we parked at Sears to get something. The parking lot had the spaces at an angle so cars would go one way down the lanes. While we were walking in we noticed a 740 going very slowly the wrong way down the lane. My wife kept looking over her shoulder, noticed the 740 parked next to her Maxima. She was suspicious. Went inside, my wife couldn't get it out of her mind, so she looked outside again and saw that the 740 had moved. She went to her car and saw a long black crease down the passenger and rear right door!!. Then she saw the family who were driving the car walking into Sears. She confronted them, at first they denied everything, then finally admitted it after we looked at their car and saw our paint on their bumper! Dented our car, then MOVED their car away!!! We called the cops, turned out an older man was letting his son drive, he was so blind (literally) that his son had to pull his ID out of the wallet for him. "I asked him if he hit anything, he told me no" the old guy said. Right. If he couldnt feel his car creasing our car he was totally numb as well as blind. When the cops got there we had reached an agreement to settle without insurance (very risky, but it turned out OK in the end). The bill was $750 from the Nissan dealer, the guy even had the nerve to ask if we could go someplace cheaper!!! Jeez, and to think if my wife hadn't been so paranoid ;-) we would never have found who did it. The depth of peoples crappiness amazes me.
