We played with this problem in our 2001 9-3. I'm not sure if there was a gate from Saab, for that model, only one for the 9000. Obviously, putting the rear seats down will solve the problem, however I have never seen any kind of wire grate that to seal off the front seats, without damage to headliner, or, that could be quickly removed. This is a issue I think many people would be happy to find a fix for, as many of us have big dogs. The dog cataloges have a lot of grates, but most of them are designed for wagons or SUV's
