Some answers which produced a question.... [+]

hi all.
As some of you know, i've been having idle problems on my 99SE, HOT, 60k. I posted a couple threads on here, got a bunch of stuff checked out and changed (new plugs, cleaned AIC-throttle body/plate, ran Techron..etc..). None of the above helped. The mystery was that the poor idle (spiking, dropping rpms) would only occur with the engine was in "mid-temp" range (the inch and a half space right above the little blue dash on the guage and below the normal operating tempature mark), once it reached normal operating temps, it idled ok.
> I think i figured this part out: it idles poorly because of the fan speed for my heat![?] I have it set on auto and (as most of you know) when the engine temp is cold the fans blow gently, when it gets just above the blue mark the fans start blasting out the heat to reach the 70deg. i have it set for. By the time the engine reaches norm. op. temps the fans have slowed back down because it has reached the set tempature inside the cabin. To test my theory, i drove to work today without the heat (brrrrr) on and it didn't stall or spike/drop in idle.
So that's how the answer prompts the question... is this deduction even near what could be happening? or am i once again shooting into the dark...
cheers and thanks for reading all of this =)
