I also have the UK Haynes manual; ordered from Amazon.co.uk. It's mostly ok. Gives a good indication of mechanicals before undertaking any job.
Gleaned from this board, the '99 9-3 Base car had the old intercooler. The HOT had the new one (Viggen-style).
All '99's had the new hydraulic clutch.
The serpentibe belt has one less idler pulley. (I'm just about to undertake the belt replacement before I experience the dreaded pulley-meltdown.....I'm about due....)
