Hey, I lost 3 Saabs in 20 years this way...

last one was a 89 900t cpe. where I got rear ended by a F-150 P/U GOING 85 MPH! I was going 60 (speed limit)in right lane. Kid had his head out the window looking backwards at the junk in his truck bed and drifted from the left lane to the right lane. I was sore for a couple of days but thanks to the well designed headrests, no injuries to either my wife or me. If I had been in another car, I may have been injured or killed.
Of course, kid had an insurance card he showed the cop. He stopped making the ins. payments after getting the card and was uninsured. I wrote a letter to the state insurance commissioner (Georgia) and this year, finally the state now verifies this electronically when they call in. Current data within 2 weeks. Little punk would have been on his way to jail and suspended license if this happened today. My insurance company totalled my car (still drivable @ 160,000 miles), gave me a fair price AND let me keep the car and title, I sold the car 4 months later for 2,500.00 to a guy who wanted the interior, engine/trans and front clip and doors.
That is why I keep driving these things and putting up with the maintenance headaches and hi parts prices.
