spilled coke or something on the dash (air vents, various switches) and the console switches. It looked clean but the action of various 'toggles' was sluggish for some switches compared to others in the car and ones in my old 1996 900S. I just popped the switches out of their hole, removed the wire harness plug and then with a thin blade pocket knife I levered the switch pieces apart. Previous knowledge made me ensure I made no jerky motions as the pieces separated so that I could place the pieces down and sketch where they were - this can help with reassembly after a soapy water wash and pat dry cleaning (rinse with HOT water and the parts dry quickly. Since they are plastic and brass (except one switch which had a very small spring, probably steel) you don't really have to worry about rust. If you noted some lubricant on dissassembly use silicone grease (sparingly) upon reassembly, otherwise leave it dry. Good luck, it really is easy.
