I'm probably going to be trying the same thing pretty soon with a set of Abbott springs. They have a size for 15" - 17" wheels that lowers the car about an inch. I would assume that any more than that would cause problems. They also have a set of springs specifically for 18" wheels that don't lower the car quite as much.
