It's rated at 300hp in stock form, but if true to form, the Volvo inline 5 is a good base engine for extracting more power. The previous offerings of the T5 (225hp) and the R (240hp) are fully capable of 285hp and 305hp respectively, with nothing more than a cat back exaust and ECU mod that runs a paltry 15psi of boost. This allows the 850T5/S70T5 sedan to run a 5.7sec 0-60 and 14.1 quarter mile as tested. Not bad for a heavy car and this can be done for around $1000.
If the new S60R and V70R are capable of handling more boost, using the previous 20% increase in power would provide 360hp which would be lots of fun. The previous R did a decent job of putting power down and now with AWD it can only be improved.
Happy Saabing
