New 9-3SS

Well, I took the plunge. I traded in my '99SE on the new 9-3 with launch, touring and tire/wheel package. Went from white to the new graphite green.
Initial impressions: Terrific car. Fit and finish is at least equal to Audi/BMW. Engine has lots of power, NO tourqe steer (still can't believe it's only 175hp) with very smooth automatic transmission. It's also fun to drive in "manual" mode.
New suspension is everything we heard about. I have 225/45/17's and it handles bumps with ease. I DO MISS THE HATCH!! Trunk is large, but just not as easy to get things in (in my case my son's hockey bags) although it will fit three of these.
Steering is very percise- imo, best in class. I liked the seat in my SE better, but I'm getting use to the new one.
I really did shop before buying. I drove the S60AWD (twice) the A4 1.8 quattro, the Acura TL type S and the new V-6 Accord. I was more comfortable in the 9-3 over the Audi and Volvo (I'm 6'1) and I thought the Saab's acceleration was better. The Accord just didn't do it for me, although it's a huge step up from previous models. The Honda in no way felt like a "sports" sedan. I did like the Acura but it felt more like a big car and didn't seem as nimble.
Anyway, so far, so good. I had to drive almost 100 miles in a snowstorm a few days after buying and even with the Pirellis the car handled the ice and snow well.
It definetly turns heads. Not a lot of them on the road yet around here, but I think that will change if more people test drive.
Fun car.
