I have a leased 2000 9-3 that had an unfortunate "incident" with a tow hitch on a chevy van a couple of years ago, and let's just say it left a golf ball sized impression in the front bumper skin to the left of the front license plate. Originally, I had planned to buy out the car so I had nothing done to repair. Knowing that Saab Financial is not going to come down below 15.5K for the car, I am looking in to repairing the damage so I am not tagged with excess wear and tare when it is turned back in. So...
I just got back from a body shop in NC who quoted me $1,700 to replace the entire front bumper skin and repaint. They quoted $1,200 for the part alone. Does any one else have experience with a situation like this? Should I fix it or should I risk turning the car in and seeing what Saab Financial will charge? What have been your experiences for turning in cars with damage beyond door dings and what how their charges have been for repair.
Thanks!
