Basically there were 3 models in 99
The regular turbo producing about 180-185 hp. The HOT (high output turbo) producing 205 hp and the viggen producing 225 (?) hp. The regular and HOT engines used the 2.0 litre eng. and the Viggen the 2.3l. The viggen came with 17" wheels standard and the HOT 16". I am not sure of the regular engine wheel size. The '99 cars have had problems blowing the head gasket anywhere from 30,000-60,000 miles. I would know having had one with this problem (under warranty, thankfully). In addition, the '99 16" tires were michelin pilots which were great tires, but prematurely failed with bulges, etc. and SAAB, after numerous complaints, changed the later models to Pirelli's with a higher profile. Ride comfort and durability were improved, but the car was no longer tire rated for 150+ miles an hour. Oh well.....
