Advice needed on painting replacement mirror (long)

Someone did a hit an run on the left driver's side mirror on my 2000 9-3 SE HOT which has the body-colored mirrors. There are a total of 4 parts which the dealer outlined as follows:
Two plastic pieces $61.20 + $26.00
Glass $74
Mirror Assembly $220
Luckily the mirror assembly with the electronics was undamaged, but the plastic pieces and glass were smashed. The dealer did tell me that they would have to send the plastic out to be painted body color (glossy black).
After a series of phone calls to second hand part dealers and inquiring if they had the mirror painted glossy black, I found one (or so I thought) for $45. After paying for 2nd day shipping, which was a waste given the snowstorm delay, I got the whole left side mirror. It was off of a base 1999 9-3 so it was not painted glossy black, but rather it was just black plastic slightly textured.
As I see it, I have the following options:
1) I can continue searching for a glossy black body-color left mirror and return this one
2) Have someone paint this one (maybe the dealer's painting source)
3) Attempt to paint it myself
The questions I have, are:
Q1: Do I have the right part? Since the plastic is slightly textured, I'm unsure if this will paint smooth.
Q2: Is this something easy to paint myself and does anyone have instructions on how I would go about it?
Any advice is much appreciated.
