Eric - for typical US driving, the warp in your rotors isn't caused by heat, it's cause by the way the wheels are bolted to your car when they are removed and reinstalled. Over time, the high point on the warped rotor surface rubs up against the brake lining material while you drive, not while you brake. Eventually this will cause a thinner section on your rotor that makes itself known to you every time you step on the brake pedal, in the form of pulsation - either through the brake pedal or the steering wheel or the entire vehicle having less than smooth braking (or all of them together).
SO...resurfacing is a good idea, but make sure your shop finishes the job properly by using a torque wrench in a star pattern to reattach those wheels! If they use an impact gun to shoot the bolts in, the resulting torque on each bolt is different and can distort the rotor. I will loosen and retorque each wheel if any shop touches them. 90 ft-lbs is what my owner's manual calls for. Overtorquing is not a good idea.
not sure if this is timely for ya, but hope it helps.
